(segment of the Pacific Crest Trail PCT)

It was often hard to watch where I was going because my gaze was affixed on some rock formation or stunning viewpoints one after another. This camper has a great view point after we accidentally woke him up by running past him 4 miles in. From the small mountain town of Snow Creek, a few of us set off on a run a half hour before sunrise up an asphalt path for a little over a mile. At the end of the asphalt path we crossed a small creek and then started ascending beautiful grass covered hills with gigantic boulders.

We ccontinued climbing for another mile at a 10 to 15% grade made easier by the long switchbacks. We stopped at a creek and splashed water on our faces and decided to head back down the trail and catch up with our friend who’d turned around at 4 miles.

I’m definitely going to have to come back and try this one again. Next time I’ll aim for Fullers Ridge or San Jacinto peak winding up in Idyllwild.
