Redemption Run in Indian Canyons

(with “We Do Hard Things” Palm Springs)

The Indian Canyons are the ancestral home of the Aqua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. We ventured into the park today for a group meetup with the Palm Springs chapter of “We Do Hard Things”.

We set out from the trading post on a half-marathon loop with approximately 2500 ft of ascent. The weather was sunny and beautiful to begin the run up into Palm Canyons and on to West Fork Trail.

We checked out the Stone Rock pools and then headed up the dry wash towards Dunn Rd.

Attempts to keep the feet dry for the first 10 miles

We took a short break at the picnic tables and the old d8 dozer from the infamous Mr. Dunn. Wanting to finish before it got too hot, we headed down Hahn Buena Vista trail for some amazing views of the valley. We continued down East Fork trail and were treated to spectacular views of San Jacinto and the lush Palm Canyons before returning to the river to cool off.
